Life can be pretty hectic. With families, work and everything else in between, I think we need to slow down and reflect on what makes us truly happy. I was going to write a few paragraphs about what makes me happy but then thought it would be a lot more fun to make a visual list. Here we go. The top ten things that make me happy.

#10 Tattoos. There’s something to be said about ‘ink therapy’. Don’t knock it until you try it.

#9 Tattoos, beards and muscles – need I say more?

#8 Seeing my books for the first time. That initial glimpse at a novel’s cover art is a feeling that’s hard to put into words.

#7 Writing. Putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard in this case)

#6 Reading. I have a serious addiction folks but would you expect any less? 😉

#5 Summer at the cottage. This isn’t the best picture as it was particularly wavy and cool this day, but on a sunny day the view is spectacular.

#4 Funny videos. I love videos that make me laugh so hard I cry. The flavor of the month is this doozy. And watch it a few times – it gets funnier with each viewing!

#3  Babies! Particularly baby feet!!! I can’t. . .I just. . .I love them!

#2 My kids! What a beautiful sentiment and written on a baby foot to boot!

#1  Family. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my wonderful family.

So that’s my list! Be sure to check out the Angels of the Night series if you’re into paranormal romance. There are two books out in the series with the third to follow in June.

Happy hopping folks!

Review: Mayhem by Jamie Shaw

Mayhem by Jamie Shaw

*This review may contain spoilers.*

The first thing that caught my attention when I received this book was the quote on the front by Jay Crownover, “This book is exactly why every girl has a rock star fantasy.” I love Crownover and was excited to read a story she enjoyed, especially one with a gorgeous rock star. The second thing that grabbed me was the dedication. Brilliant!

When I started reading this I didn’t want to put it down. The book grabbed me in the first chapter and wouldn’t let go until the end. I read just before bed so there were a few times I was glancing at the clock wondering if there was time for one. . .more . . .chapter. One more chapter lead to another, then another and well, you get the picture. Many late nights!

The characters were likable and I loved Dee’s no nonsense attitude. She pushes Rowan past her comfort zone and tells it like it is. Leti was a funny guy and had me laughing out more than a few times.

Adam was definitely swoon worthy and we learn quickly he’s not without faults. His infatuation with the mystery girl “Peach” shows he’s got a sweet side and, perhaps, wants to get away from all the fan girl groupies. The buildup in the book nearly killed me and I loved the whole French tutor bit. The guys in the band were fantastic.

Overall, this was a fun 5/5 star read. If you want a rock start fix, this is definitely the book for you!

Follow along as I read the second book in this series, Riot by Jamie Shaw. Or better yet, read with me! Hurry though because I’m already on chapter 4!
